7. Planning Manager Alexa Beemer was named the City’s Employee of the Year.

8. Owasso city staff joined the Oklahoma Main Street Center’s incentive program.

9. The City of Owasso became a Film Friendly Certified Community in 2025.

10. The 138th Fighter Wing named an F-16 fighter jet “The Spirit of Owasso.”

State of the City: ‘So many great things accomplished over the last year’

He highlighted a variety of key accomplishments from the past year, updates on current projects, and a look ahead at some exciting initiatives for the future.

Wandering Magpie opens Owasso storefront

The Wandering Magpie offers a wide range of vendor booths carrying everything for the occasional hobbyist to the seasoned antique collector.

Owners Eileen Skocdopole and Natalie Myers debuted the shop in the Reasor’s shopping center off of 86th Street at the beginning of November, and invite residents to come and peruse their stocked shelves.

“We want you to shop and have fun, stay in here for hours” across the 3,500-square-foot storefront that plays host to over 60 vendors, they said.

Happy New Year, Owasso!

The City of Owasso’s Recreation & Culture Department is kicking off 2026 with its “Ringing In at Redbud” New Year’s Eve event, a one-of-a-kind experience on Dec. 31 at Redbud Festival Park that includes a night of show-stopping entertainment, including local musical acts, comedians, fun, games, and more.
