Built for Better Parks: Groundbreaking Signals Bright Future for Recreation Services

Owasso Recreation and Culture at the end of July held a ribbon cutting on its new Parks Office and Maintenance Facility.

The building, located at Owasso Sports Park (north), features new offices, work stations, breakrooms, restrooms, storage areas, garages, and more, for city park crews to use during their shifts.

Spanning around 20,000 square feet, the property provides needed additional space for the expanding department to streamline its day-to-day operations.

John E. Koller Jewelry Design and Repair relocates to expanded space

John E. Koller Jewelry Designs and Repair is celebrating a new chapter in Owasso.

Owners John and Kara Koller relocated the business from its longtime spot in Tyann Plaza to its current storefront that previously housed Armstrong Medical Clinic off of 86th Street.

“To actually have it completed, just to have my own place, has been wonderful,” said John, who has been operating his namesake business in Owasso since 2007.

The new location provides the Kollers an additional 1,500 square feet of space to showcase an expanded product line, along with repair and restoration services, for a variety of occasions.

“We have a great selection of jewelry, custom designs,” John said. “Hopefully my customers’ experience here is something they’re going to tell other people about.”

Kara added: “It’s like a dream come true. We have a place for the dogs, room enough for everybody that works here.”

City staff tours Tulsa’s Household Pollutant Collection Facility

Owasso staff recently toured the City of Tulsa's Household Pollutant Collection Facility (4502 S. Galveston Ave.) to learn more about this valuable resource available to our residents.

If you have old paint, lawn chemicals, household cleaners, batteries, aerosols, or other household pollutants that aren't accepted at the Owasso Recycle Center, this facility offers a safe, environmentally responsible way to dispose of them.

Through a partnership between the City of Owasso, The M.e.t., and the City of Tulsa, Owasso residents who live within city limits are eligible for two FREE disposal vouchers each year — one during the first half of the year and one during the second. Each voucher covers up to 45 pounds (about 5 gallons) of household pollutants. Before your visit, call MET at (918) 584-0584 to receive your voucher number.
