Owasso firefighters gift twins new motorized tractors after losing them in fire

Owasso firefighters surprised two local twin boys with new motorized tractors after they lost them in a recent house fire.

Cam and Jett Lynch, both four-and-a-half, were all smiles when Owasso Fire crews showed up to their house and pulled out a couple of shiny new battery-powered ride-on mowers to replace the ones they lost.

Both twins and their parents, Cay and Julie Lynch, lost everything in the garage fire, which occurred on the Fourth of July.

"It means everything, especially when you go through what we’ve been going through,” Clay said. “They (my sons) lost all the toys that they’re outside all the time playing with, so now they got these tractors; it just makes them happy.”

What’s more, Cam has been battling leukemia over the last several months. He is currently in remission but has two years of treatment left. After hearing about Cam, Owasso Fire Cpt. Josh Handsford rallied his team to help support the family.

"All the guys on the shift just wanted to do something nice for them, so we all pulled our personal money together and bought both of them a tractor,” Josh said. “When we go out on structure fires, people lose their belongings. Whenever we can, we like to do something nice and help ease that pain of losing something.”
