City staff goes behind the scenes of HGTV film set at Owasso home

The City of Owasso went behind the scenes of an HGTV film set in Preston Lakes on Aug. 9.

Crews renovated the home of a local family whose 8-year-old daughter is battling brain cancer. They will be featured in a future episode of the network’s hit show, "Fixer to Fabulous."

The 24-hour project transformed the family’s kitchen, bathroom, living room, backyard, and more, and was organized through St. Jude Marathon Build by St. Jude Children's Research Hospital where the daughter is receiving her treatments.

Owasso city inspectors partnered with the crews to ensure the home’s water and electric were up to code for the renovations.
