Owasso VFW lays foundation on new Vietnam Veterans War Memorial

On July 14, the Owasso VFW officially began laying the foundation for its new Vietnam Veterans War Memorial.

The memorial broke ground in March at Owasso Veterans Park, 12001 E. 86th St. N., and will feature three pillars, two park benches facing the monument, and a Vietnamese flag on a pole.

“This is a great opportunity for us to honor our veterans in not only our community, but the surrounding areas,” Owasso Recreation and Culture Director Larry Langford said. “We invite everyone to come and visit the monument, and pay their respect to those who sacrificed so much.”

The memorial is scheduled to tentatively be completed by the end of 2026, weather permitting.
