Berry-picking season in full swing at Owasso Christmas Tree and Berry Farm
Berry-picking season is in full swing at Owasso Christmas Tree and Berry Farm, which opened this week.
Hundreds of residents have already turned up at the 40-acre property off of 129th E. Ave. to stock up on the fresh produce.
“We’ve got a tremendous crowd of people; it’s been great,” said owner Bill Jacobs, who runs the farm with his wife, Paula. “I’m looking forward to more people coming and enjoying our farm.”
The farm features eight varieties of blueberries — Blue Crop, Blue Ray, Chandler, Duke, Patriot, Blue Ribbon, Top Shelf and Reka. It also features four varieties of thornless blackberries — Osage, Natchez, Ponca and Caddo.
The Owasso Christmas Tree and Berry Farm, located at 10939 N. 129th E. Ave., is open Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7 a.m.-12 p.m., and Saturdays, 7 a.m.-2 p.m. For more information, call 918-272-9445 or visit owassotree.farm.
